Supplies:
1/2 skein of yarn. I used super saver yarn.
scrap yarn for accent
"F" hk
3 5/8 buttons

Instructions:

Bottom Panel:
Row 1: Begin with main yarn color. You'll be starting at the hem of the vest. Ch 13, dc in 4th ch from hk,
dc in ea st across. Total: 11 dcs.
Rows 2-5: Turn. Dc in ea st across.
Tie off.

Top panel:Make 2.
Row 1: With main color yarn, ch 4, 4 dcs in 4th ch from hk. Total: 5 dc cluster.
Row 2: Turn. Ch 3, 2 dcs in same st, dc in ea of next 3 dcs, 3 dcs in nxt st. Row 3: Turn. Ch 3, 2 dcs in same st, dc in ea of next 7 dcs, 3 dcs in nxt st.
Row 4: Turn. Ch 3, 2 dcs in same st, dc in ea of next 11 dcs, 3 dcs in nxt st.
Row 5: Turn. Ch 3, 2 dcs in same st, dc in ea of next 16 dcs.
Row 6: Turn. Ch 3, dc in ea of next 17 dcs, 3 dcs in next st.
Row 7: Turn. Ch 3, 2 dcs in same st, dc in ea of next 20 dcs.Row 8: Turn. Ch 3, dc in ea of next 22 dcs.
Row 9: Turn. Sl st in first 8 sts. In 8th st, ch 3. Dc in ea of next 15 dcs.
Row 10: Turn. Ch 3, dc in ea of next 15 dcs.
Row 11: Turn. Ch 3, dc in ea of next 13 dcs, dc2tog.
Row 12: Turn. Dc2tog, dc in ea of next 13 dcs.
Row 13: Turn. Ch 3, dc in ea of next 11 dcs, dc2tog.
Tie off.
-Attach this corner to one of the top corners (last row) of the bottom panel. Attach the 2nd top panel to the opposite top corner of the bottom panel.

-With rs together, attach the front panels to the back panel at the 2 rows under each armhole.

Edging

-With accent color yarn, join in side of dc at top row(last row) of right front panel. You'll be working down the side and bottom of front panel, across the bottom side of back panel and left front panel, and up the side of front panel. Ch 1, sc in sm st, 2 scs in side of same dc, 3 scs in side of ea dc down the side of the front right panel, 2 scs in the bottom of the 5-dc clstr, 3 scs in the side of ea dc along the bottom of the right front panel, 1 sc in ea of the 11 dcs along the back panel, 3 scs in the side of ea dc along the bottom of the left front panel, 2 scs in the bottom of the 5-dc clstr, 3 scs in the side of ea of the next 4 dcs, 5 scs in the side of the next dc (buttonhole made), 3 scs in the side of the next dc, 5 scs in the side of the next dc, 3 scs in the side of the next dc, 5 scs in the side of the next dc, 3 scs in the side of the next 4 dcs. Do not work along the top of the vest. Tie off.

- In either armhole, join in beg st of row 8. Ch 1, sc in same st, 1 sc in ea of next 6 scs, 3 scs in the side of ea dc all the way around armhole. Sl st in beg st. Tie off. Repeat this for other armhole.

Neck Tie:
Row 1: With accent color yarn, ch 10, sc in beg dc at neckline of left front panel, sc in ea st across the top of all 3 panels, ch 11.
Row 2: Turn. Sc in 2nd ch from hk, sc in ea st across.
Rows 3-4: Turn. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in ea st across.
Tie off.

-Sew buttons on.
