"Summer Fashions In Thread Crochet"
by Kristina Dannels

Halter Top

Originally known as "Morning Blossom", this was the first of the series. From this came many more tops and bathing suits.    You'll see this cup design thruoout both books.   Kristina decided to add small glass beads to each petal.    It became such a hit that she started incorporating beads into all her designs.   With this top, she also added glass leaves to the hem and the ends of the ties.

"It's all in the cup... Up to this point, I had been doing the typical flat cup design.   They're really only good for the smaller chested women, and I was getting more shapely clients that were asking for something more...    The model is gorgeous, but I really wish that they had used someone a little bustier to show what this top can do."
Kristina

Cool Breezes Top

With wide straps and a lace up back, this top gives you comfort.  All the tops in this book are lined with lycra, but you can line the bottom lace panel for a more conservative look.  The bead detailing gives this top elegance.

You can check out the section Tips and Tricks on how to make the lining."
Kristina

"This is my least favorite top that I have done.    I can see where I made mistakes...    I lined it with flesh colored lycra, so the model looks naked underneath it....   Do you think that I could've made the straps any longer?   (sighs)   At least I'm honest with myself...  We all have our moments, and this wasn't one of mine."
Kristina

Blossom Halter Top

The cups are accented with flesh toned cat eye beads to bring out the detailing in the floral motif cups.   The edges are accented with picot edging to give it that extra feminine apeal.

Tranquility Top

This top is great for bustier women.  It gives the woman coverage on top, and lace on the bottom half.  The center motif and beads give the detailing additional flare.  The length can be extended easily for more coverage on the tummy, and it cinches in for an all around comfortable fit

"I had originally made this top for me.   I got so many compliments on it that I had to turn it into a pattern.  It's comfortable to wear and keeps me cool."
Kristina

Ripple Top and Skirt

This top and skirt set really give you the feeling of being on a tropical island and walking along the edge of the sea.   With it's open air weave it also keeps you cool.    The top cinches in back and the skirt at the waist, so you can adjust it to be comfortable.

"This set was wonderful to make, and I really enjoyed designing it.   While I was making it I was thinking of sailing and the ocean's breeze."
Kristina
